Private Pilates Equipment Sessions

Movement Awareness — Core Stability

Private instruction is an invaluable tool for students of all levels and experience.
Private lessons provide the perfect setting to address your individual goals.
We recommend that you take a private session before joining a public Pilates Mat Class.

Building upon movement awareness and core stability, learn how to challenge strength, balance, and coordination with this contemporary approach to the Pilates method.

This well-rounded workout using the Pilates reformer, Pilates tower, and the Pilates chair will leave you feeling strong, toned, and connected. And you will accomplish definition and lengthening in the overall physique.

Working with Jerry, one on one, is ideal for anyone’s goals – personal training, rehabilitation, or
performance enhancement.

Pilates Mat Certification - Level 1

Next session - to be determined

The only requirement to join our Pilates Mat Training is you must have participated in 10 Pilates Mat Classes (taught by Jerry or someone else).

We will provide the manual, lecture, a master class, and an opportunity to practice leading others in this routine. You will want to buy the book Anatomy of Movement by Blandine Calais-Germain.

The training is broken into five different modules. Each module requires a set number of apprentice hours, i.e. practice hours, which include teaching others, personal practice, and observation.

Our curriculum includes the following elements:

  • CLASSICAL PILATES: comprehensive repertoire, beginning through intermediate level Pilates exercises, and how to make them suitable for any individual.
  • PROGRESSIVE TEACHING: additions to classical repertoire to make it an organic addition to an individual’s existing fitness program.
  • TEACHING SKILLS: students will develop a confident and personal teaching style, effective cueing techniques and powerful client communication skills.
  • GROUP FITNESS: students will learn how to successfully apply Pilates to the group fitness arena.
  • INTEGRATIVE ANATOMY: students will learn in-depth biomechanics and anatomy, how it pertains to Pilates, and how to appropriately handle special cases and injuries.

The beginner mat program is the foundation of programs. During this weekend you will learn to teach the 18 beginner level mat exercises and be introduced to teaching tools, philosophy, and teaching formula.

Pre-Requisites:

  • Attend a minimum of 10 classically taught beginner mat classes prior to the weekend
  • Read Anatomy of Movement by Blandine Calais-Germain – chapters 1-3 & 6
